I've been doing a lot of personal reflection over the last couple of weeks. I'm 59, rapidly approaching 60. For some, that's old; for others, it's young. And still others, would advise me to be grateful, whatever my age.
Â
Regardless, I can't help but be reflective. I've been asking myself questions like - have I done what I'm supposed to have done? Do I know what that is? How should I be spending my time here? Am I making a difference? Am I taking full advantage of the gifts I have?
Â
It can be a lot.
Â
Add that to the time of year. 2024 is about to come to a close, and a brand new year is set to open before us. Yes friends, it's time to start setting some goals for 2025. Why not put together a plan to start strong out of the gates on January 1.
Â
That's where I've been focused. Something has been brewing, and I'm anxious to share it with you. But not this week. I want to chew on it a bit longer. I don't think I'm there yet. So why bring it up now? I want to encourage you to start thinking about things you want to accomplish next year.
Â
No, there's nothing special about New Year's Day. It's just an easy time to start fresh, a time to put the old behind and start down a new path. Or continue down an existing path, but maybe with some tweaks.
Â
As you start planning, I would like to encourage you to identify five areas in your life where you can focus. I'm fairly certain that my five areas are: physical, spiritual, family/friends, financial, and business. How all that fleshes out, I'm not 100 percent sure yet; but I do intend to be transparent with you. I want to share my goals, not to say look at me, but to challenge you on your journey as I challenge myself.
Â
I care about you. I want the best for you. So, please allow me to encourage you to pursue excellence for yourself.
Â
And, with all that going on, we'll still find time for holiday celebrations. There are all kinds during December. Let's embrace our community and celebrate with them - whatever their choice.
Â
December 31 is going to come and go, whether we are ready or not. Let's choose this year to be intentional. We will build one another up, while doing the same for ourselves.
Â
Let’s do this!
